Hi, I'm Amy. Nice to meet you.

Hi, I'm Amy. I am a 24 year old single woman who moved to Columbus (the big city by Ohio standards) about a year ago. After I graduated college I had no direction, ( I mean come on, what can you do with a bachelors in Psychology?!) and broke up with my boyfriend. I went through a slight depression as I dealt with the overwhelming reality that I no longer had the safe routine of school, and was now being thrown into the "Real world". I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I did nothing for awhile. I stumbled across an Americorps program called City Year at  a job fair. I was interested, but not enough to do much about it. After sitting in my living room all day for what was one too many days in a row, I looked further into the program and decided that it would be perfect for me. Long story short, I applied, got in, and had less than a month to completely relocate my life (I'll save that debacle for another post). I didn't know then that my adventure with City Year would change my life and make me grow so much as a person. I enjoyed my experience so much, I agreed to do another year. I wish I had kept better track of my experience then, so I'm trying to correct that mistake by blogging this time. I'm excited to see what is in store for me this time around.
